Assessment
Assessment
The Constitution of An Comunn Gàidhealach states that the aims of the Association shall be to support and develop all aspects of the Gaelic language, culture, history and heritage at local, national and international levels. Methods of fulfilling the stated aims include the promoting of the study and development of Gaelic language, literature, music, drama and all other related art forms. In fulfillment of its objectives An Comunn shall organise and promote the Royal National Mod.

It is clear from the above that part of the purpose of the Royal National Mod is to promote the study and development of Gaelic. In this connection, An Comunn has devised a scheme for the assessment of Gaelic for National Mod competitors in the Senior Section. The assessment scheme is based on the tuition course Speaking Our Language, and is divided into sections as follows:

All from Speaking Our Language....
Level 1 Based on Units 1 - 9
Level 2 Based on Units 10 - 18
Level 3 Based on Units 19 - 27
Level 4 Based on Units 28 - 36
Level 5 Based on Units 37 - 45
Level 6 Based on Units 46 - 54
Level 7 Based on Units 55 - 63
Level 8 Based on Units 64 - 72
